Youth softball organizations across the country now have an opportunity to earn a $2,500 Community Grant through Liberty Mutual’s Responsible Sports program. From equipment upgrades and facility repairs to scholarship programs for families in need of assistance, the $100,000 Liberty Mutual has awarded to date has improved the lives of many youth athletes and families. Youth softball leagues can join the excitement, while learning how to teach valuable lessons and enrich the lives of players through positive role modeling.
Here’s what they’ll need to do:
1. Go to ResponsibleSports.com to search for their youth sports organization. If their organization is not listed, the administrator can register the organization.
2. Complete the Responsible Sport Parenting or Responsible Coaching> coursework and pass the ten-question quiz to receive a point toward the Grant.
3. Make sure they credit their point to their youth sports organization.
4. Rally other parents, coaches and administrators to participate in the program by downloading the promotional materials on the site and using the “spread the word” tool.
Remember, the more people that participate in the program, the better the chances are of winning the Responsible Sports Community Grant!
In 2007, youth sports organizations from across the country participated in the Responsible Sports Community Grant Program. Winning organizations used their Responsible Sports Community Grant money to fund tournaments, cover registration fees, and fund coaching education.
